Eastsound Water Annual Meeting and Candidate Forum

Oct 22, 2019 | Conservation, Information

Eastsound Water’s Annual Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday Oct 29th at the Eastsound Fire Hall from 6pm to 8pm.  The agenda will include an opportunity to meet and question the 3 candidates seeking election to the Association’s volunteer Board of Directors.  A valid election requires participation from at least 10% of the membership.   Members have 3 options of casting their vote.   You can cast your vote at the annual meeting, you can cast your vote online, or you can vote via proxy.

Members will have the chance to vote on a paper ballot at the annual meeting after the candidate forum.   Online voting will open at the start of the annual meeting and remain open till Nov 5th.   All members have also been sent an invitation to the annual meeting that includes a proxy voting option.  Historically proxy voting has been important to meeting our 10% quorum requirements.   Please use one of these methods to participate in electing your board representatives.

This year’s annual meeting agenda also includes the following:

• Review of the implementation of 2019 rate structure.

• “State of the Water System” Report with recent projects completed, near term future water system improvements, and review of annual system growth and water use metrics.

• Discussion of Water System Consolidation Initiative being consider with two other Orcas Water systems.
