Eastsound Water is hosting a membership meeting on Thursday, December 14, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Orcas Senior Center.
A special rate committee made up from the Eastsound Water Board and general Association members, have worked throughout 2017 to develop an all-new rate structure. A group of 6 members has been meeting weekly from June to November to create a new structure to equitably distribute the operating costs of the association. The rate committee will be presenting the results of their work at the Annual Meeting, and are anxious to discuss it with the membership prior to Board approval in early 2018.
In addition, there is an election for expiring Board terms. In the recent EastsoundVision.com survey, many participants mentioned concerns about local water resources capacities to support future growth. Eastsound Water’s future capacity plans will be shared at this meeting. We also will review the water system improvements made in 2017, the benefits of EWUA’s online meter analytics system, and our 2018 “work plans.”
