Board Service Opportunities

Since its origins in the early 1950’s, EWUA has benefited greatly from the contribution of time, wisdom, and talent given by members who have volunteered their service to the Board of Directors.

The EWUA Board consists of seven members who are elected by the members to three-year terms. Membership in the Association is a prerequisite for board service. The Board normally meets once a month. There is an expectation of some “homework” in preparation for each board meeting. The time requirement typically does not exceed more than five hours per month. Service on the EWUA Board is among the most significant ways of contributing to the future vitality of the Eastsound community. EWUA’s policy is to remain neutral on the issue of growth in our community. While EWUA is a nonprofit, the Board does not have fund-raising responsibilities common to most nonprofit Boards. If you are interested in learning more about Board service, please contact EWUA’s General Manager.

Board Meeting Schedule

The EWUA Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Meetings begin at 5 p.m. in the conference room of the EWUA/OPAL offices at 286 Enchanted Forest Road in Eastsound. Members and the general public are welcome to attend. Advanced notice is appreciated, especially should you wish to request time on the agenda.
