Hilltop Tank Complete!

Dear EWUA Members,

When I was first being shown the ropes by Paul Kamin almost four years ago I saw a shovel-ready project on the shelf that looked easy-to-complete to my naive eyes. “We should be able to knock this out pretty quick,”  I thought. So we began preparing and budgeting…

Little did I know the processes would take us my entire tenure to date to get done, and I am absolutely proud to tell you all, that by the hands of our amazing staff, a brand new 35,000 gallon tank is now live and functioning on top of Double Hill – we call it our “Hilltop Tank.”

A special thank you to neighbors Michael Grochau and David Woosley who constructed their beautiful new home just steps away from us as we built this tank. We are grateful to them for their patience as we marched through this process.

Next I wanted to highlight local legends John Hart and Gregg Bronn. John worked on this project for years before he and Paul Kamin got it appro ved by the Department of Health in 2009!

Thank you for the years of dedication to Eastsound Water John Hart, and to Gregg Bronn as well who has been our day-to-day companion as we executed each of the many steps required to bring a project like this to life!

Last, I wanted to thank you, the Association members who supported this project. We will be rolling off the hill for good in a few weeks and what we’ve left is quite an upgrade that will benefit the Association for decades to come.

This project was completely and totally self-funded with no debt required. All the work was done by our staff or our amazing utility partners in our community.
