The 2008 EWUA Water System Plan (WSP) has been approved by the State Department of Health. The approval of the plan confirms EWUA’s capacity to serve its existing membership and the current demand for new membership. The plan also outlines EWUA’s strategy for expanding capacity to meet future demand and details current system improvements that are needed.
EWUA has memberships available for planned development within its service area and is currently connecting inactive memberships upon request. Another important outcome of the EWUA WSP approval is that DOH can finalize EWUA’s agreement with San Juan County designating the Association as the preferred provider in our service area. This ensures that development seeks its water service from EWUA first. This agreement strengthens EWUA by helping more accurately predict future demand within the service area.
